Teeworlds is a small, fast 2D multiplayer shooter with cartoon characters. You run, jump, swing on a grappling hook and shoot with guns, grenades and a laser rifle, and the level design makes the hook the most important tool.
Game modes include deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag, and public servers are always listed in the built-in browser. Matches are short, which makes it easy to jump in for a few minutes. Controls are simple, with a keyboard and mouse or a gamepad, and customization of looks is built in.
It is free and open source, light enough for old computers, and has no ads, accounts or purchases.
