Counter-Strike 2 is Valve's free-to-play tactical team shooter and the next chapter of the Counter-Strike series. Two teams, terrorists and counter-terrorists, play rounds in which one side plants a bomb and the other tries to stop it or defuse it. Money earned each round buys weapons and equipment, so economy and teamwork decide the match.
The game runs on the Source 2 engine and includes updated maps, smoke grenades that react to the environment, and the competitive and casual modes the series is known for. Matchmaking and community servers are available. Some cosmetic items can be bought, but they do not give a gameplay advantage.
The download is the official one from Steam. You need a free Steam account, and the game installs and updates through the Steam app.
