Free strategy games worth your time

Strategy is where open-source games shine. 0 A.D. gives you an ancient-warfare RTS with a real campaign, and The Battle for Wesnoth is a deep turn-based game with hundreds of scenarios.

OpenTTD and Freeciv suit slower, planning-heavy play. OpenRA brings classic Command & Conquer style play to modern systems.

Mindustry mixes factory building with tower defence and works on phones, too.

All of these are free and published by their own teams. Start from our catalogue and follow the official link.
