Endless Sky is a 2D space trading and combat game. You start with a small ship and some cash, and choose what to be: a trader hauling cargo, a mercenary, a smuggler, an explorer or a bounty hunter. You earn money, buy better ships and outfits, and follow story missions across a large map of star systems.
Combat is real time and is fought with a mix of weapons and ship systems, and you can hire escorts or capture ships. The universe is rich with alien species, factions and side missions, and plugins add more content. Controls work with keyboard, mouse or gamepad.
It is free and open source under the GPL, inspired by the Escape Velocity series. There are no ads, accounts or in-game purchases.
